reb00tVision

Welcome to reb00t

Why we're building reb00t — and why now is the right moment for it.

Imagine a home that truly understands you. That raises the blinds when the sun comes up, carries your music to wherever you are, and quietly speaks up when a window is open as rain moves in. A home you talk to like an attentive presence — one that thinks along, rather than merely obeying.

Systems like this exist. But until now they’ve carried a price no one says out loud: to help you, they hear and see everything — and send it to the data centers of large corporations. Your living room becomes a data point. Your conversations, faces, and habits become merchandise.

The alternative, so far, has been to do without: a “smart” home that can barely do more than switch lamps, because anything else would peer too deeply into your life.

We believe that’s a false choice.

reb00t was born from that conviction. We build Verity, a home AI that is allowed to see and hear — because real help simply requires it — and where, nonetheless, everything it knows about you stays with you: stored locally in your home, readable by no one else — not even us. How that’s done without giving up capability is what we’ll tell in the stories to come.

Why now? Because two developments have come together. AI is finally good enough to genuinely understand a home — and confidential hardware is finally available to run that AI privately. What was impossible a few years ago can be built today.

We are two founders in Berlin. We build reb00t as a workshop: few projects, each made with the care we’d give our own home — from the consultation through the design to the installation, which we carry out ourselves.

In the coming posts we’ll take you behind the scenes: how your home can listen without eavesdropping; how it can see without watching; how it speaks, remembers, and watches over you. And at every one of these steps, we’ll show how your data stays exactly where it belongs — with you.

Welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
